The Antibes Transactions team is delighted to present the interview carried out with Éva, who welcomed us to the premises of BE Donuts (a doughnut shop located in Old Antibes). Discover her background, her motivations, as well as the different kinds of delicious doughnuts you can enjoy at BE Donuts. Enjoy watching and happy reading!
In the lively lanes of Old Antibes, a gourmet address catches the eye and awakens the taste buds: BE Donuts. At the helm is Éva, who opened the doors of her colourful, welcoming shop to share her story and entrepreneurial journey.
Launched in May 2022 with her pastry-chef brother, the shop quickly found its audience. “It’s a doughnut shop specialising in sweet treats, but we also do savoury,” explains Éva. Guests can sit both on the terrace and indoors, where they can enjoy milkshakes, coffee, cold drinks or hot chocolate alongside the famous homemade doughnuts.
And what are the stars of the menu? Unsurprisingly, chocolate remains unbeatable, but Éva notes that “salted butter caramel and lemon meringue tart are also doing very, very well.” Indulgent recipes that win over regulars and curious passers-by alike.
For now, the doughnuts are mainly enjoyed in the shop, but BE Donuts also pops up at special events. “At events like the Christmas market, or thanks to a corner at Monoprix, we sometimes sell elsewhere,” she says. A great way to introduce their creations to a wider audience.
And the future? Éva doesn’t hide her ambitions: “This year, we hope to open a second, or even a third doughnut shop in the region, and continue to do pop-up events in Antibes or neighbouring towns.”
Her path is as tasty as her recipes. Before taking the plunge, Éva was a manager of a large restaurant in Paris, then a croupier for several years in Juan-les-Pins and Cannes. But the desire to start a business and create a warm, friendly place caught up with her. “I always wanted to open a tea room, a French-style coffee shop. As my brother is a pastry chef, trained at École Ducasse, it was only natural that we launched into this adventure—something a bit more fun than a classic patisserie.”
What does she love most today? The customers’ smiles. “What I like most, I think, is the relationship with the customer and seeing them taste the doughnuts and say wow, that’s nice.”
Whether you’re strolling through Old Antibes, looking for a gourmet break on the Côte d’Azur, or simply curious to discover a patisserie reimagined the French way, BE Donuts is the ideal address for a convivial, flavoursome moment.
